Achieve STA Certification in Swindon, Wiltshire

I have worked with children who have disabilities from the age of 12, as well as delivering the STA disability swimming teacher certificate.

STA Disability Swimming (3-4 Days)

This qualification is for anyone who wish to work with learners who have additional needs. Providing detailed lessons, these specifically work towards helping them to develop both as swimmers and individuals in an aquatic environment.

No experience of working with children or teaching swimming is required, so this qualification may appeal to:

  • Parents Looking for a Career that Fits in around their Childcare Commitments
  • Those Interested in Pursuing a Career in the Leisure Industry
  • Those Already Employed within a Leisure Environment Who Are Looking to Progress Their Career
  • Those Who Are Already Working as a Swimming Teacher

The minimum age is 18 years old or older.

Teaching People Who Have Additional and Complex Needs in Mainstream (4 Hours)

It has been shown that 1 in 5 swimmers have learning difficulties. This workshop looks at different conditions and their characteristics, and suggests ways of how to accommodate these characteristics. This workshop can be delivered generically for a mixed sport audience or specific to a particular sport.

Integrating Children Who Have ASD into Mainstream (3 Hours)

Gain a specific understanding of ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). From Asperger’s to autism, I can help you to gain a better understanding of particular conditions. Again, this can be delivered generically or specific to a particular sport.
Additionally, I am a licensed tutor for Swim England.
